About Film :
The documentary Drishti is inspired by the real-life story of Manju Bala Arora, a visually impaired woman who leads an inspiring and independent life. Despite her blindness, she has established herself as a dedicated music teacher in a government school. Her husband, who is also visually impaired, shares her journey, making their life together both unique and deeply motivating.
The film sensitively portrays the everyday experiences of this couple, highlighting not only the challenges they face but also the remarkable ways in which they navigate their world. From managing household responsibilities to fulfilling professional commitments, their daily routine reflects resilience, adaptability, and a deep sense of mutual support. Rather than focusing solely on hardship, the documentary also captures moments of ease and normalcy, showing how they have embraced life with confidence and determination.
Notably, Drishti was an official selection at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2019, further recognizing its powerful storytelling and meaningful subject. Through its narrative, the documentary presents a balanced perspective—showcasing both struggles and quiet triumphs—ultimately serving as a moving testament to human strength, perseverance, and the ability to lead a fulfilling life beyond physical limitations.
