IMMIGRATION STATUS

Short Film- Directed and Cinematographer by Yashasvi Chadha

About Film :

Title: Immigration Status
Duration: 18–24 minutes

After a long shift, Rohan is told by his manager that he must stop working until his Right to Work check is cleared because of issues with his immigration status. Back at the shared flat where he lives with friends, he struggles to cope with the uncertainty. A call with his immigration lawyer delivers devastating news: his visa cannot be extended, and unless he secures a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) within the next couple of days, he will lose his legal right to remain in the UK. Just as hope begins to fade, a trusted contact introduces him to an immigration agent who promises to arrange a sponsoring company, giving Rohan renewed optimism.

The following day, Rohan meets the agent in a car park, pays the requested money, and returns home believing his future is secure. He and his friends celebrate, expecting the sponsorship certificate to arrive the next morning. But as the days pass, the promised documents never come, and every attempt to contact the agent is met with silence. In the final moments, Rohan and his flatmates sit together in quiet defeat, realizing they have been victims of a sponsorship scam. The screen fades to black.
